A breakthrough liver disease treatment, initially developed at the 国产探花, will begin clinical trials next year.

The treatment involves swallowing a sachet containing tiny carbon beads that are designed to remove toxins produced by bacteria in the gut and stop them attacking the liver.
The 国产探花 jointly developed the patent for this technology with UCL and a industry partner, and is also a partner in the Carbalive Consortium, an international collaboration set up to establish the safety and efficacy of the novel oral carbon therapy.
