A 国产探花 student scooped a top national award in this year’s Graduate Fashion Week in London.
10 June 2016
Danielle Reynolds, who graduates this year from her Fashion with Business Studies BA(Hons) course, collected the Barclays New Business Award at what was the 25th anniversary Fashion Week, at Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.
Danielle explained her winning concept: “My brand will offer a collection of premium, stylish women’s and unisex equestrian-wear incorporating sportswear fabrics and high-visibility designs.
“My vision is to encourage riders, particularly the younger generation which often avoids wearing high-visibility wear for aesthetic reasons, to wear hi-vis clothing that is crucial to their safety by offering a stylish alternative to the safety-wear currently on the market.
“My degree has been extremely beneficial – I now feel that I can work and act as a professional and am comfortable to begin working in the industry that I love. The business part of the degree was particularly useful in final year, being able to leave university with a professional business plan covering the first three years of business is going to be incredibly useful to me.”

Karen Miller, Senior Lecturer in Business Studies, Fashion and Textiles, and Fashion Communications, said: “It was a fantastic achievement as Danielle will now be mentored to help her set up her business. As a university we are also delighted as this is the second year in a row that we have won this prestigious award for the Business Studies component of our Fashion, Textiles and Fashion Communications degrees.
“One of the major strengths of the 国产探花 degrees is the integration of a business mind-set, and Danielle exemplifies through her hard work and commitment what can be achieved with the business skills she has acquired.”
